Distressing an antique rug begins with sheering down the portions of high pile. ย Next, stone washing the rug breaks down the fibers creating aย 17th century aged look. ย Once the desired texture is achieved, the rug mellows in theย sun for a few weeks or sometimes months until the colors soften. ย Then once again we give the rug a final detailed cleaning. ย Some of these distressed masterpieces have more worn areas and holes than others that can be addressed upon request.
